With this visual conversation, I aimed to synthesize themes explored by Georgia O’Keeffe with physical work of contemporary artist Allison Hobbs into an exploration of color, shape, and the female form.

Allison Hobbs, a fellow Arkansan and color-lover, and I sourced our favorite O’Keeffe works from her time in New Mexico. I asked her to create ‘some painted pieces of fabric’ for me, Alex, and Elle to play with. She delivered incredible acrylic painted silk chiffon that paid homage to O’Keeffe while exploring patterns from the New Mexican Landscape.

I was especially inspired by O’Keeffe’s studies of bones and immediately knew the type of clothing that would compliment Allison’s work while keeping the integrity of the shapes O’Keeffe created.
